Bathroom Interior at Apartment
This project consists of renovation of an apartment interior designed by YLAB Arquitectos in an old building in the heart of the traditional neighborhood of Barcelona. The mind is an integral architectural intervention of a lounge with two main objectives: to maximize the lighting and ventilation of the facade eliminate unnecessary partitions, and to obtain a new distribution that contains everything required by the owner to use his youth: suite bedrooms, guest bathroom and bedroom bed, a working studio, kitchen and dining room for parties and order meeting. To maximize the exposure it needs to achieve a structural intervention that completely eliminates the internal partitions and wall structure located just behind the facade back, which is key to optimal use of light. The new distribution consists of a large common areas and quiet area, which runs continuously from façade to façade, and semi-enclosed private boxes formed by the guest suite of bedroom and bathroom. The general area is formed by the front room, dining room, library, studio and living room in the rear facade, and a kitchen on the front facade. All of this area extends along parallel walls made of hand made of solid brick. The bedroom is located between a high cabinet, with a dual function entrance hall closet and bedroom closet, and large wood core that contains two bathrooms, the furniture with shelves in the studio area. This furniture to hide two large wooden sliding doors that allow the independence of the two different spaces: a bedroom, separate from the general area, and part of the living room contains a sofa-bed, which allows the use of time as a living room wood core. Cross partitions are completed with translucent glass sliding doors to enable the connection of lighting, ventilation and visual between spaces. On the inside all the inner surfaces, including ceilings and floors, covered with Bisazza mosaic of light colors and mirrors. The sanitaries and fixtures suspended or free standing to contribute to the feeling of transparency. The result is a game of gloss and reflection of light multiply and transform the bathroom into a bright and sophisticated space, in contrast with the rest of the house warm and simple.
